Welcome to 2nd grade! I am very excited to be working with you this year in Room 23. I hope to make this year a fun learning experience for your child.
I believe it is important for students to become independent learners while setting high expectations. I hope to achieve this by finding their strengths and interests to help them become successful. Technology has been a wonderful tool to help students practice their skills or provide enrichment opportunities. I try to incorporate technology within my lessons & allow students time to use technology in the classroom.
I have been teaching at Vintage Magnet for 18 years, now starting my 19th year. I began my career here working as a Teacher's Assistant in 3rd grade while pursuing my teaching credential. I have only taught 1st and 2nd grade, but would like to teach an upper grade in the future. I have spent my career in the classroom because I feel this is where I can truly make a difference. I am honored to be a part of the Vintage family.
I am happily married and have 2 sons. My oldest son is in middle school & my youngest son attends Vintage Magnet. We enjoy playing at the park, reading stories together, visiting relatives, watching movies, and going to Menchies for yogurt.
